Israel strikes close to Iran’s nuclear facility indicating they are ‘frightened to go after these sites’

Israel has launched a retaliatory strike close to Iranian nuclear sites and air defences were fired from a major military base.

Nuclear facilities near to the central city of Isfahan also fired air defences and there has been no reports of damage or casualties and all sites in the city are “fully safe.”

A senior official said that Iran is not planning an immediate response to the air strikes overnight and it remains “unclear who is behind it.”

The official told Reuters, “The foreign source of the incident has not been confirmed.

We have not received any external attack, and the discussion leans more towards infiltration than attack.

The UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said they are monitoring the situation “very closely” and have called for “extreme restraint.”

Sky News’ military analyst Michael Clarke said Isfahan is where one of the least sensitive nuclear sites is base and this “would make sense.”

He added, “It’s a research site, about 3,000 or so scientists work there and there’s no evidence this was targeted on the nuclear site.

But the fact that Isfahan is one of the cities that does quite a lot of nuclear work is also symbolically quite important, I think, if the Israelis are indicating that they’re not frightened to go after these sites.
