Huge fireball mushroom cloud seen over Russia in a ‘major hit’

2nd Aug 25 2:40 pm

There has been a series of strikes on Russian oil refineries, military airfields, radar facilities and defence manufacturing plants on Saturday.

The Ukrainian strikes on Russia comes after the US President ordered two nuclear submarines “closer” to the Russian Federation after the former President Dmitry Medvedev made nuclear threats on America.

President Trump said the move is in response to “highly provocative” comments made by Medvedev.

Trump said in a statement, “We always want to be ready, and so I have sent two nuclear submarines to the region. I just want to make sure that his words are only words and nothing more than that.”

“A threat was made by a former president of Russia, and we’re going to protect our people,” he added.

Medvedev said, “Every new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country.”

The strikes happened at dawn and an enormous fireball mushroom cloud filled the sky after the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in the Samara region was attacked.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported, “The attack was a response to Russia‘s recent terrorist attacks on Ukrainian cities, killing and wounding civilians.

“In addition, the enterprise JSC Penza Production Association Elektropribor, which specializes in the production of secure telecommunications systems, cryptographic communications equipment and printed circuit boards for military equipment, was damaged.”

“More detailed information about the consequences of the attacks is being clarified,” the General Staff reported.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported that SBU drones hit the airfield for storing shaheds in Primorsko-Akhtarsk and also at the Elektropribor military plant.

“This night, SBU drones continued to work on Russian military facilities in the enemy rear. The first target of long-range UAVs was the Primorsko-Akhtarsk military airfield (Krasnodar Krai).

“Here, the storage and launch sites of shaheds attacking Ukraine were hit. After the hit of SBU drones, a fire broke out in the area of the airfield.”

The oil refinery supplies aviation fuel for Vladimir Putin’s warplanes that are constantly attacking Ukrainian civilians.

Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ said the successful Ukrainian strikes caused a mushroom cloud as high as 180 metres or 590 feet into the sky.

An oil refinery in Ryazan which supplies Moscow was also hit in an attack and fires were also reported near to a military airfield used for drone strikes on Ukraine on Primorsko-Akhtarsk, in the Krasnodar region.
