FTSE 100 experiences worst day since 1987

The FTSE 100 closed down 10.9% today in what was the blue-chip index’s third worst day ever.

The index has not seen this big a drip since Black Monday in 1987.

The FTSE 250 also closed down 9.2%.

Its US counterparts are struggling too.

The Dow Jones is trading 8.4% lower, the Nasdaq is down 8.2% and the S&P 500 is down 7.6%.
