The French oil giant Total has announced today that they are to buy a new wind farm in the English Channel.
Total has joined forces with Denmarkâs Orsted and Belgium Elicio to create a âsolid foundation.â The wind farm will be able to power 1% of the UKâs energy.
Totalâs head of gas and renewables and power said, âBy contributing to the lighter weight of vehicles, plastics improve their energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
âProducing them from recycled materials will also meet the challenge of managing their end of life,â said Bernard Pinatel, the head of refining and chemicals.â
Adding, âThe acquisition of Synova is a concrete proof of our commitment to developing plastic recycling. It reinforces the activities we already carry out in recycling and contributes to Totalâs ambition to be the responsible energy major.â
