A cold snap is coming from Eastern Europe which will see temperatures plunge to 0C in parts of the UK over the next couple of weeks.

From next week expect a risk of “wintery showers” which bring an end to a mild November as there are predictions there will be a cold snap from Monday.

The Met Office’s forecast for the week from November 20, says, “A cold and potentially cloudy and drizzly start to this period in the north, with some wintery showers following over high ground.

“Winds will often be blowing between the west and north. High pressure will often affect southern areas, bringing largely settled and dry conditions here, this possibly extending countrywide at times.

“However, some spells of rain are likely to affect northern areas, accompanied by brisk winds.”

Accroding to WXCharts on Sunday parts of Scotland could have snowfall which could move to northern England and north Wales later this month.

It is also predicted that December will have “short lived cold spells” with periods of dry weather.
