The British Prime Minster Boris Johnson hosted a news conference in Munich, Germany with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and gave a grim warning.
The Prime Minister warned that we are now at a “very dangerous moment in history” as we “stand on the brink of what could be a war in Europe.”
Johnson said, “Everybody at this conference wants to stand united in support and in solidarity with Ukraine.”
Johnson told the Ukrainian President it is “more vital than ever that we stand with you.”
Zelenskyy thanked Johnson for the UK’s support and said “extremely important who is next to you on this path” as Ukraine has “very good friends.”
Johnson warned that war in Ukraine would bring a “destruction of a democratic state,” but hopes diplomacy will succeed.
At the Munich Security Conference he warned that he must be “unflinchingly honest” about the situation in Ukraine.
Johnson hopes that the path of diplomacy will succeed but we should all be “in no doubt” what is at stake for Europe.
The British Prime Minister added, “If Ukraine is invaded and if Ukraine is overwhelmed, we will witness the destruction of a democratic state.”
