UK set for a spring mini heatwave with the mercury to hit highs of 20C

The UK is set to have a mini heatwave this spring with temperatures hitting highs of 20C in some parts of the country.

Forecasters have said that from Tuesday the mercury will reach highs of 20C across parts of the UK, but temperatures will start to cool towards the end of the week.

Met Office spokesman Richard Miles said “lots of places” in the UK will see temperatures in the high teens on Tuesday, he added that he would not be surprised if a record is broken this month.
