Amazon Alexa was reportedly down this morning after being hit by a massive outage.
Many users were seen tweeting across Europe after they found their Echo smart speakers down from early morning today. Ther services came back around 2 pm GMT.
@AmazonUK really surprised there's no press release yet about #alexa and #echo being down. It's been 3 hours. Your customers deserve more respect than this. Very disappointed in your PR team. Man up and engage!

@amazonecho your customer service is rubbish, nothing on your website, no announcement, wasted so much time before seeing it on news. I had checked your website first but nothing! #alexadown

Users have also been reporting widespread difficulty in connecting to the server, according to Down Detector, a website which tracks online outages.
On Down Detector, one person wrote: “My echodot is down in Sydney. I too keep getting a ‘Sorry I’m having trouble understanding right now’ message.”
While another added: “All Alexa devices down today in my house. Internet ok, reset router and changed WiFi Password.
“Updated WiFi on Echo dots from Alexa App but they just Red Ring with loss of connection message.”
