As the excitement builds for the 2026 Grand National at Aintree, accommodation prices in the area have soared to eye-watering levels, according to a new analysis by MyBettingSites.co.uk.

Analysing over 1,000 listings on Booking.com and Airbnb, the research reveals that staying near the racecourse during the festival is dramatically more expensive than the surrounding weeks.

For a four-night stay from April 8th to 12th for two adults:

  • Booking.com: Average £1,208 – a 150.6% increase from the week before and 160.3% more than the week after.
  • Airbnb: Average £1,091 – a 139.8% increase from the week before and 134.1% more than the week after.
  • Combined average: £1,149 – 145% higher than the week before and 147.1% higher than the week after.

The data highlights how the Grand National transforms Aintree into one of the most expensive accommodation hubs in the country for racegoers.

For those who can afford to splurge, the top-end listings are staggering:

  • Most expensive Booking.com option: Entire apartment, 7 miles from Aintree Racecourse, costing £5,287.
  • Most expensive Airbnb option: Entire house, 4.2 miles from the racecourse, priced at a jaw-dropping £23,585.

Meanwhile, budget-conscious visitors can find a private room in a shared house:

  • Booking.com: £154 (4.6 miles from Aintree)
  • Airbnb: £141 (4.3 miles from Aintree)

The Grand National, known for its exciting jumps and unpredictable results, comes with a significant increase in accommodation costs. Research from MyBettingSites indicates that even mid-range options are more than double the price of a typical weekend stay in the area.

With hotels and Airbnb listings filling up quickly, racegoers are encouraged to book early to avoid steep prices if they wish to experience the excitement of Aintree in person.
