The Duke of Edinburgh is celebrating his 98th birthday and is also the longest serving consort in British history.

Kensington Palace said they are “Wishing a very Happy 98th Birthday to His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh!”
Clarence House posted on Twitter a photo of Prince Charles when he was 2-years old holding his fathers’ and in 1951 when he returned home from Malta.

At noon on Monday a gun salute will be fired in his honour by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery in London’s Hyde Park.

The British Army said on Twitter sending the Duke, their congratulations, “Horses fed and exercised, uniforms prepared boots and Guns polished to a mirror shine.”
Adding, “This is the last anniversary Salute till late Autumn so we are determined to make it a good one.”
