Rail passengers ‘set for 3.5 per cent fare rise’

Millions of rail commuters are set to face a 3.5 per cent rise in fares from next year, according to latest reports. The exact hike will be announced on Wednesday.

All regulated train fares, including season tickets on most commuter routes, some off-peak return tickets on long-distance journeys, and anytime tickets around major cities, would be subject to the price hike in January, according to a media report.
