Office Outlet administrators announce store closures

Office outlet are to close a swathe of stores and slash over 160 jobs as the business looks for a rescue buyer, the company went into administration in March,

Richard Hawes, joint administrator and partner at Deloitte said, although advisors are open to a sale for all or part of it, there must be some store closures.

Nine stores are to close on 7 April and another seven on 10 April.

The first set of store closures will affect shops in Beckton, Catterick, Gloucester, Newport [Isle of Wight], Merton, Newcastle, Plymouth, Staples Corner [London], and Stratford.

The second set of store closures will affect Cardiff, Carlisle, Manchester, Old Kent Road, Southampton, Walsall and Weston Super Mare.

This move will see a total of 161 staff redundancies in addition the to the 106 jobs lost last month in Daventry.
