The woman is in her twenties

A woman was shot by police in north-west London this morning as part of an anti-terror operation.

Officers sprayed CS gas and a woman was shot. The woman is in a stable condition, officials said.

Scotland Yard confirmed that raids also took place in Kent in which six people were arrested in.

The operation is not connected to yesterday’s arrest near Whitehall when a man carrying knives was detained on suspicion of terror offences.

Two men, 20 and 16, and a woman, 20, were arrested during the Willesden operation. A woman, 43, was arrested in Kent.

Two further arrests were made in Willesden after a man and woman returned to the property. They were both aged 28.

A police spokesman said the woman who was shot was taken to hospital by ambulance.

“Due to her condition, she has not been arrested at this time and remains under police guard at hospital,” he said.

“The address and persons connected with it had been under observation by counter-terrorism officers as part of an ongoing intelligence-led operation.”
