JD Wetherspoon has announced a “reasonable” start to its financial year as it has today reported an increase in full-year profit amid record heatwave, which helped bring more people into the pub chain.
The company, which owns and operates more than 900 pubs in Britain and Ireland, said like-for-like sales rose 5.5 per cent in the six weeks ended September 9.
โThe company has had a reasonable start to the financial year, but taxes, labour and interest costs are expected to be higher than those of last year,โ Chairman Tim Martin said.
