Shocking!
Labour’s MP for Kensington, Emma Dent Coad 62, has been quoted by the Sun newspaper saying that, “Harry can’t actually fly a helicopter.”
“He tried to pass the helicopter exam about four times and he couldn’t get through it at all so he always goes for the co-pilot.
“So, he just sits there going ‘vroom vroom’.”
The Labour MP attended a meeting called ‘Reigning the Monarchy’ where she purportedly said that that Princes William and Harry are “not very bright” and to “Just let them drift away, be playboys or whatever.”
Conservative and Labour MPs have hit back at the alleged comments, Conservative MP, Johnny Mercer who is a veteran of the Afghanistan War, said to the Sun: “Not only is she wrong but she abuses the freedoms Prince Harry personally fought for.”
Shadow education secretary, Angela Rayner, said on Good Morning Britain: “It’s never been a secret that in the Labour party there are people who are anti-royalist.
“I personally feel the current generation – Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate – have done the royal family proud.
“We are a party where people hold different views, she’s entitled to her opinion. Our view as the Labour party in general is that the royal family do contribute to Britain.”
However, MP John Woodcock who is the former chair of Labour’s backbench defence committee hit back and said on Twitter: “The highly inaccurate comments reportedly made by one of our colleagues, which disparage Prince Harry’s military service, in no way reflect the views of my party.
“Like everyone who put themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe, His Royal Highness deserves nothing but praise and respect for his service in the armed forces.”
Prince Harry served for 10 years in the British Army and he is a fully qualified, Apache helicopter pilot. He had served in Afghanistan, in 2013 he gave an interview where he had revealed that he killed insurgents during his tour of duty.
