Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has accused Prime Minister Boris Johnson of having “lost control of the virus,” and is guilty of “governing in hindsight.”
Sir Keir said that one in three people across the UK are now living under strict social lockdowns, and has called on the government for a road map to navigate the country through the winter.
Previously the Labour leader has called Johnson “Captain hindsight.”
Sir Keir told the Observer newspaper, “I think they’ve lost control of the virus.
“There isn’t a strategy. There’s a vacuum there,” he added.
“And that’s because there’s division in the Cabinet as to which strategy they should be following.”
He told the newspaper that people are “feeling a deep sense of despondence” who live in lockdown areas and is urging Johnson to offer them “hope” as we are entering winter with Christmas around the corner.
