French security services shoot man dead at Marseille train station after attacking people with a knife

Sunday afternoon, French security services have shot dead a man after he attacked people with a knife killing two women, one woman had her throat cut and the second woman was stabbed to death.

Police chief Olivier de Mazières, said a second person died from their wounds at the scene.

A few people are injured and one baby, people have said that the man shouted “Allahu Akbar.”

The immediate area has been evacuated.

French interior minister, Gérard Collomb said on Twitter that he will be heading to Marseilles following the attack.

Reuters is reporting that this is being treated as a terror attack, citing a police source.

The attacker was from a North African appearance and was in his twenties.
