First of three Heathrow Airport strikes called off

Heathrow Airport workers have called off strikes that were to begin on Friday so they can vote on new pay offers.

Unite union who has some 4,000 members including engineers and security guards were due to start strike action on Friday and Saturday, which would have caused chaos for travellers.

There are two more 48-hour strikes remaining for the 5 and 23 August, Unite are not revealing any details of the latest pay offer.
