British American Tobacco (BAT) the company behind Benson & Hedges and Dunhill has said sales from their e-cigarette division will rise between 30% and 50% this year.
Chief executive Jack Bowles said, “We are creating a stronger, simpler business and driving a step change in new categories, built on the foundation of a strong combustible business.”
Bowles added cigarette sales are performing well thanks to “good pricing” which is to help the total sales to rise between 3% and 5%.
BAT’s Vype vape has performed well in the UK and France with market shares respectively of 608% and 12.1%, the company is hoping that vaping will generate £5bn in sales by 2023.
