Oxfordshire is the easiest place in the UK to find a local job, while jobseekers in places in Scotland and Wales struggle the most, according to new data released by the world’s largest job site, Indeed.

Indeed analysed millions of jobs advertised across its platform and millions of CVs uploaded to the site in 2019 to find where there are the most and fewest candidates per job posting in places around the UK.

The findings are being released to coincide with the British Chamber of Commerce’s annual conference today and keynote speech by Indeed’s Head of EMEA Research, Pawel Adrjan.

The research shows places in Scotland and Wales have the biggest shortage of local jobs, relative to the number of candidates, and workers in those areas therefore face the most competition when searching for a job in their hometown.
