Occupy Justice protesters have announced their intention to vacate Old Street Magistrates’ Court by January 23. Following a hearing at Clerkenwell and Shoreditch County Court, the protesters reached an agreement with building owner Mastcraft Ltd. after the company promised to refurbish the disused building to put it back into public service.

In a statement on their website, Occupy London said it “would like to thank Mastcraft for having the imagination to work with us in giving this fine building a new lease of life – as well as perhaps the last ever trials to take place in the building – while it awaits redevelopment. We hope this agreement will serve as a model for others to follow.”

The protesters said that they would continue to hold “trials of the one per cent” who they blame for the financial crisis and would announce the a first schedule of their very own hearings very soon.
