Terror operation in Barcelona
The Catalan police in Barcelona have confirmed, the famous Sagrada Famillia catherdral has been evacuated following an anti terrorism operation.
The Spanish Mossos police said on Twitter: “We are making checks around the Sagrada Familia as part of an anti-terror operation and have cordoned off the area.
“Follow the instructions of police.”

Spanish media have reported that two people have been arrested in connection with the operation following reports that a suspicous package was found close to the cathedral.

The cathedral was stormed by police at 8:15pm, nearby businesses were closed and the metro stations were evacuated, the area is in lockdown.

A month ago Barcelona saw two terror attacks, a van deliberately ploughed into shoppers killing 13 people with more than 100 injured, in the town of Cambrilis, five terrorists were shot dead by police as they ploughed into more people.

Mossos police have confirmed that it was a false alarm and no explosives were found in the van. Spanish media has reported Tuesday that an imminent attack is to hit the city.
