Here’s what happened
An American Airlines flight that was flying to New York from Manchester was forced to head back to the UK after an emergency was declared over the Irish Sea.
American Airlines said that flight AA211 returnd back to the UK after a “mid-flight emergency” was declared due to a “maintenance issue” after an hour in to the flight.
A passenger called Sara said on Twitter: “We were in the sky for 30 minutes and then there was a problem with the engine so we had to go back to Manchester.”
“I am not feeling good… So far it’s not going too well but hopefully once we’re back in the air it’ll be OK… I hate flying as it is without actual stuff going wrong.”
