A further Tory MP has indicated they have sent a letter of no confidence in Boris Johnson as Caroline Noakes responded to a tweet on Tuesday.

Joe Lynch sent Noakes a tweet which reads, “Submit your letter, and if your colleagues don’t step up then resign the whip.

“Anything else is shallow platitudes Caroline, we need deeds not words. Only you and the remaining sane Tory MPs can end this.”

Noakes responded to Lynch and wrote, “I already have.”

For a vote of no confidence to be called Sir Graham Brady Chair of the 1922 Committee must receive 15% or 54 letter to make the leadership challenge possible.

Johnson has been warned that it could be “terminal” for his leadership when the two final reports over partygate are published.

Some senior Tory MPs have submitted publicly and privately letters of no confidence in the Prime Minister, but the true number of letters handed to Sir Graham is unknown.

Senior Tory MP Jeremy Hunt has warned that the Prime Minister is in “limbo” and will soon face his “final judgement” when the reports are published.

One former Cabinet minister told the Mirror, “If Sue Gray finds he lied to parliament unequivocally, or depending what action police take – that’s it.

“Either of those two things would be terminal.”

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer claimed there is a “growing number” of Conservative MPs who are “discontented” with Johnson.

Sir Keir said, “It’s the distraction from the job in hand, which is sorting out the cost of living crisis, that is the vital, most important thing here.”

Another senior Tory suggested it was only a matter of time before the PM was ousted, saying: “The trend is clear – it’s just a matter of the timetable.”
