The Belgian prosecutor has confirmed Wednesday that this was a “terrorist attack” and he lived in Molenbeek, which is the same district as the terrorists who undertook the Paris and Brussels attacks in 2015 and 2016.
He had gas canisters in his bag along with nails, two explosives, the Paris terror suspect that was shot dead on Monday also was carrying gas canisters.
Bomb disposal experts made safe a second device whilst the terrorists lay on the floor dying, thankfully no one was killed or injured after the blast.
Brussels Central station was evacuated and was searched for anything hidden and all trains were suspended.
Charles Michel, Belgium’s prime minister said the attack, “could have been potentially very dangerous.”
