The coronavirus death toll in the UK is rising, as 49 people have died. The total death toll now stands at 46,413 people who have died in all settings, as of 5pm on Wednesday.
Northern Ireland and Scotland have not seen any deaths for three weeks, whilst Wales recorded three, and England confirmed there had been five deaths, which is the lowest increase since 23 March.
As of 9am on Thursday the government also announced that there was a further 950 people who have now tested positive for coronavirus.
Between 23 to 29 July NHS data released on Thursday, reveals that confirmed cases had increased to 713, this is a 17% rise, which clearly indicates that the infection rate is rising.
