Welcome to a new dawn of men everywhere swigging on alco-pops and vodka-cranberries. An increase in “mixed gender drinking occasions” is fuelling a growth in men’s consumption of sweet drinks, according to SABMiller.
Tom Verhaegen, managing director of SABMiller Netherlands, said at an investor relations seminar that “men feel much more confident ordering sweeter or fruitier products”, the Telegraph reports.
SABMiller has expanded its range to include drinks to cater to the newly fruitier tastes of male booze-drinkers.
It is also “romancing” its lager products to appeal to older beer drinkers.
