CLC World’s Manchester Travel Centre has donated £1,000 worth of presents to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital to help make the festive period brighter for children whose Christmas will be spent at the hospital.

CLC World Resorts & Hotels has always been committed to helping, and actively support local causes and charities. On 12th December, Shaun King, Project Director at CLC World Travel Centre Manchester, and colleagues handed over the presents to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH).

Shaun said: “The general feeling in the office was that we wanted to make a positive difference this Christmas for children in the local area. We contacted the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity who provided us with a list of ideal gifts and all staff contributed to buying presents for the kids.

“It’s difficult enough having to stay in hospital – away from home, your usual activities, family and friends – but it’s particularly hard at Christmas time. We’re so pleased we’ve been able to help make, even in a small way, that time in hospital a little brighter.”

The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is the largest children’s hospital in the UK. In the last year, the hospital has seen an average of 756 children per day, with some children staying for long-term treatment over several months.

Lydia Hyde, RMCH Charity’s Corporate Fundraising Assistant said, “The toys that CLC World staff have kindly donated is very generous and really appreciated. They will help create the friendly environment we strive for at the hospital, and which is even more important at this time of year.”
