A tasteless advert showing a housemaid getting slapped has landed Tesco into trouble.
The advert for Tesco Lotus, the retailer’s Thai offshoot, was ridiculed for being insensitive to the topic of domestic violence after showing a worker being slapped for accidentally dropping crisps on a woman.

Tesco was forced to remove the advert after a fierce backlash and apologised for any offence caused.
