Suspicious package found at Angel Tube station a large police cordon in place

Here’s what happened

Police have evacuated Angel Tube station Wednesday evening, as a suspicious package was found prompting a major security alert, the area has been locked down.

A commuter wrote on Twitter: “Currently trapped at Angel station. Don’t know what’s happening. Trains not stopping. There’s an incident outside”

The Metropolitan Police said: “We were dealing with a suspect package in #Islington. A controlled explosion was carried out, and the incident was stood down at 19.34hrs.”
