For those that like a drink or two, Portuguese wine is amongst the finest in the world and there are many fantastic wineries to explore on a trip here.

The Algarve

The Algarve is often the first place to spring to mind and if you are seeking hot temperatures and sandy beaches then this should be on the top of your list this summer. The Algarve boasts many excellent resorts and is also a good place for golf if you fancy a round or two. Faro is the capital of the region and a beautiful city with neoclassical architecture and cobbled streets.

Lisbon & Lagos

Lisbon is obviously another popular destination and a capital city quite unlike any other. It is a beautiful city surrounded by natural beauty, with a river meandering through the town along with cobbled streets and old pastel-coloured buildings. Lisbon is well-known for its culture and nightlife, so those seeking fun will certainly have a good time here. Lagos in the Algarve is a good alternative if you are looking for a city as a walled old town but also somewhere that still has beaches for lounging around and soaking up the sun.
