Here’s why

The home secretary, Amber Rudd announced Sunday, that Britain’s terror threat level has been reduced from critical and back down to severe.

British armed forces who were posted to support the police and the authorities will be returning back to their postings.

Rudd said: “Following the attack in Parsons Green last Friday the police have made good progress with what is an ongoing operation

“The joint terrorist analysis centre, which reviews the threat level that the UK is under, has decided to lower that level from critical to severe.

“Severe still means that an attack is highly likely so I would urge everybody to continue to be vigilant but not alarmed.”

Rudd was asked on the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show, if she could provide any information regarding the claim by ISIS that there were other devices out there.

Rudd said: “We don’t.

“It is inevitable that so-called Islamic State, or Daesh, will reach in and try and claim responsibility.

“We have no evidence to suggest that yet.”
