Travellers flying through London City Airport faced major disruptions today as a hole opened up on a runway.
The airport is carrying out emergency engineering works to deal with the problem.
In a statement, a London City Airport spokesperson, said: “Due to emergency runway maintenance we’re experiencing delays. Contact airline for flight updates, we apologise for inconvenience caused.
“Our team is working to get this fixed asap, we apologise for inconvenience”
Commuters took to Twitter to vent out their frustration:
