An Iranian spy who provided “information with enemies” to the US and the Israeli intelligence services over the Revolutionary Guards commander Qassem Soleimani on 3 January.
Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike who was blamed for masterminding attacks on US forces.
An Iranian judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili announced that “Mahmoud Mousavi-Majd, one of the spies for the CIA and the Mossad, has been sentenced to death… He had shared information about the whereabouts of martyr Soleimani with our enemies.
“He passed on security information to the Israeli and American intelligence agencies about Iran’s armed forces, particularly the Guards.”
The spokesman said that Mousavi-Majd’s has been upheld and “he will be executed soon.” But in another statement the spokesman said, “All the legal proceedings in the case of this spy… had been carried out long before the martyrdom of Soleimani.”
