Monday, the Metropolitan Police commander, Stuart Cundy gave a statement and said that 79 people are feared dead and this number “may change.”
Cundy said that their priority is to identify the victims however, he said this may take “many, many weeks.”
He said: “This is incredibly distressing time for families.”
“It is really hard to describe the devastation the fire caused.”
“What is important for me is to find answers for those families who have been directly affected.”
