Rory Stewart the mayoral candidate for London is seeking new places to stay overnight, on floors and sofas.
Stewart is aiming to walk through the 32 boroughs across London stay with Londoners to get to know the city by “being in other people’s shoes, seeing through their eyes, staying in their houses.”
The former diplomat walked across Afghanistan in 2002 and stayed in hundreds of village homes to get to know the country.
Stewart has said he will pack his own bedding, bring chocolates and has launched a Twitter hashtag “ComeKipWithMe.”
He says in his video, “Please have me to stay,” and acknowledges it is a “weird request.”
“So please have me to stay with your family or just in your home, seeing your borough.
“Promise to bring a sleeping bag and a box of chocolates.”
Today I'm launching #ComeKipWithMe – asking Londoners to invite me into their homes and show me the city through their eyes. I want to know your concerns and your ideas. And I promise to bring a sleeping bag and a box of chocolates!
