Around 50,000 Russian forces attempted to attack Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region in a failed offensive and suffered a “dark day.”
The Telegraph reported that Vladimir Putin deployed 50,000 troops consisting of North Korean and Russian soldiers and NATO believes the Kremlin wants to secure the Kursk region before Donald Trump’s inauguration on 20 January.
Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi warned of “tens of thousands of enemy soldiers from the best Russian shock units” which will be a massive escalation in Putin’s war.
The press officer of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade (SMB), Anastasiia Blyshchyk said that left over soldiers were hiding in the groves, RBC-Ukraine reports.

The press officer said the situation remains very difficult for Russian forces, except for the Ukrainian troops.
She said, “Yesterday was indeed a ‘dark day’ for the Russian occupiers, who tried to storm in 5-6 waves.
“They attempted to break through with vehicles, landing troops, and storming settlements. However, 10 units of armoured vehicles were destroyed by the 47th SMB soldiers.”
She said that three armoured personnel carriers were blown up by mines and Ukrainian forces used FPV drone and a Stugna anti-tank guided missile system to destroy other Russian military equipment.
The press officer continued, “Other armoured vehicles were destroyed by our adjacent brigades, with whom we are stationed along the same front.
“Russian invaders were also eliminated.
“The part that managed to survive scattered and hid in the bushes. So, yesterday was a failed assault by the Russian occupiers.”
The Deep State project reported they had a bad day close to the village of Novoivanivka in the Kursk Oblast region.
Russian soldiers tried to launch surprise attacks five times, and 29 units of military equipment was used and “18 out of 29” was destroyed.
The Deep State reported, “At least 18 out of the 29 units were destroyed. The number of dead and wounded ‘scum’ is hard to count, but it could reach up to 300. Of course, some may have hidden in the bushes or escaped.”
British intelligence believes Putin will ramp up kamikaze drone strikes on Ukrainian strongholds in the Kursk over the coming days.
