New figures from the AA suggests the number of electric vehicle breakdowns due to the cars running out of power has hit record lows.

In June the AA received only 1.4% of callouts for EVโ€™s running out of power and the AA said that people who now switch to electric vehicles โ€œwill not look back.โ€

The decrease in EVโ€™s running out of power is due to the boost of public chargers and better quality charging points.

AA president Edmund King said: โ€œThe AA has the biggest database of EV breakdowns in the UK and our figures clearly show that year-on-year the proportion of EVs running out of charge has dropped dramatically.

โ€œWe understand why many drivers have been hesitant about switching to EVs as it is a massive change but it is important that their decisions are based on accurate information.

โ€œOnce drivers have made the switch the vast majority will not look back.โ€
