David Beckham and Manchester United’s famous “Class of ‘92” are eyeing a £2bn takeover of the club.
The Sun reports the takeover will be bankrolled by the Qatari royal family with Beckham spearheading the deal.
Other players involved in the deal include Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt.
The players are rumoured to be planning to buy a 90% stake in the club from current owners Americans Joel and Avram Glazer, who purchased the club in 2005.
A spokesperson for Manchester United said: “We haven’t received any bids for the club. If we had we would have informed the New York Stock Exchange.”
