Charlie Mullins has said he believes the Honours Forfeiture Committee wanted to strip him of his OBE for supporting Reform UK.

Speaking on GB News, he said, “It is politically motivated. They tried to take the OBE off me. They’ve lost, the game is over and we’ve already had the decision and they’ve got no grounds to go on.

“They’re talking about all these silly posts on Twitter which were two or three years ago.

“The real reason is because I am a Reform supporter now and a donor and the fact that I don’t agree or believe anything that Labour say.

“I’m totally against them. I’ve moved out of the UK not to avoid tax, but to avoid Labour. That’s what it’s about. It’s a personal attack.

‘I said a couple of throw-away comments [about Sir Sadiq Khan] on Twitter and I made a comment about Carol Vorderman and a joke about the Indian curry awards. It’s freedom of speech.

“[The forfeitures committee] is the old school mob and the handshakes, all that lot. They’re all drinking from the same teapot and they’re attacking me.

“It’s victimisation and I haven’t crossed the line.

“My lawyer said to me under no circumstances can they take your OBE off you. It took me 50 years to get it, and you’ve got these busy bodies sitting around the table, saying, ‘he said this and she said that.’

“No one’s interested in all that nonsense. It’s a personal attack and they know it is. They’re victimising me all because I left the country, all because I support Reform.

“I’ve got no personal disagreement with Rayner, Reeves, Starmer or Khan. I don’t think any of them are good at their job. I don’t think they’re professional enough. I think they’re bringing the country to a standstill.

“That’s what I’m saying about them but there’s no threat of violence.”
