Facebook is set to unveil a new handset in collaboration with HTC at an event in San Francisco today.
Facebook’s invitation for the event says “Come see our new home on Android” but doesn’t reveal any details of the event to begin at 6pm GMT.
Media reports have suggested that the phone will come with a 16GB storage, a 4.3 inch screen and 5 megapixel resolution rear lens for photos. The front facing camera would be 1.6 megapixels and the handset will work on certain 4G networks.
The Android Police website has reported that the phone will enable owners to download Facebook Home, an application that will provide advanced features for the camera.
Facebook has been filing patents like ‘uberfeed’ which will reportedly collate the owner’s information from Facebook, emails, texts and news sources. It’s also known to contain targeted advertising.
The phone will come with improved caller identification pages that will list details of the person calling including their their location, cinema outings and even their last holiday.
