The Titan Chemical plant in Crimea which is “ammonia filled” is now at a “critical level” and Moscow has ordered “the evacuation” of officials and the “local population.”

The Titan Chemical plant requires water to power and cool the facility which comes from the destroyed Nova Kakhoka dam which also supplies Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.

According to Ukraine’s military intelligence, the GUR, they have warned the chemical plant is under threat as Russia has mined the facility.

A Ukrainian GUR spokesman said on Telegram: “The Russians consider it impossible to resume work in a minimally proper mode.

“In the temporarily occupied Armyansk in the north of the Crimean peninsula, the Russians are preparing for the evacuation of both representatives of the occupation administration and the local population.

“At the same time, the engineering units of the occupying army of Moscow during the last few days have been mining the workshops of the enterprise, which currently continue to work, as well as planting explosives in the factory and adjacent territory.

“The terrorist attack on the Crimean Titan enterprise, for which the Russian invaders are preparing, will mean an artificial man-made catastrophe, terrible in its consequences.”

The spokesman added, “In the temporarily occupied Armeniansk in the north of the Crimean peninsula, the Russians are preparing for the evacuation of both representatives of the occupation administration and the local population.

“As a result, the lack of water in the North Crimean Canal, production processes at the Crimean Titan plant in Armyansk have been disrupted to a critical level.”

There is a reported 200 tonnes of “technological ammonia” at the chemical plant which would cover the areas of Armeniansk, Krasnoperekop and south Kherson.

Writing in the New Statesman, Historian Simon Sebag Montefiore said that Vladimir Putin shares the USSR’s Josef Stalin’s “determination to liquidate the nationality” of Ukraine “at any cost.”

He wrote, “The Russian president shares a part of Stalin’s determination to liquidate the nationality and independence of Ukraine at any cost.”

He added, “Putin sees Stalin as a flawed titan born, like Oliver Cromwell and Napoleon, for revolution.

“But it looks as if Putin has now switched from authoritarian rule to totalitarian oppression.

“Stalinist trials, camps, executions may well follow: after all, Stalin is in the bloodstream of the Russian body politic and Putin himself.”
