Will you try out the new delivery service?
Amazon will offer a new delivery service sourcing grocery products from retail giant Morrisons. The service will take effect in selected postal code areas in London and Hertfordshire.
Amazon Prime Now customers in the selected areas will be able to get their shopping delivered in an hour for £6.99, or there is the free option of a two-hour service choose from.
Amazon’s new deal with Morrisons began earlier on in the year, in June. The latest agreement has expanded the range available.
Recent shares in Morrisons have risen with the company valuing at almost £5.2bn. The stock has risen almost 50 per cent this year.
David Potts, the chief executive of Morrisons, told The Guardian: “As foodmaker and shopkeeper, we have unique skills to help build a broader new Morrisons through capital-light growth. Morrisons at Amazon is another exciting joint opportunity and makes Morrisons’ good quality, great value-for-money products available to even more customers.”
In order to be entitled to the new delivery system, customers need to pay £79 a year to become a member of the Amazon Prime service, they also have to live in one of the eligible postal code areas.
