The US Embassy in Kyiv has received “specific information” of a major aerial Russian missile attack and American citizens have been told to take cover in shelters.
The warning comes following Russia launching one of their largest attacks on Ukraine which saw 210 missiles and drones being fired on Monday.
The US Embassy said in a statement, they have received a warning of “specific information of a potential significant air attack on November 20.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the Embassy will be closed, and Embassy employees are being instructed to shelter in place.
“The US Embassy recommends US citizens be prepared to immediately shelter in the event an air alert is announced.”
The British government have said they are monitoring the security situation in Kyiv “incredibly closely” after intelligence over a “significant air attack” in Ukraine.
Science Secretary Peter Kyle told Times Radio, “I’m not going to share details at the moment of operational matters that are on the ground in Kyiv.
“What you will what you can reassure you is that we are looking at the situation incredibly closely.
“We have very good relationships with the government in Kyiv and with the United States. We will do everything we can to keep British citizens safe.”
The British Foreign Office has said on Wednesday that the Embassy in Kyiv currently remains open.
They said in a statement, “However, the safety of our staff in Ukraine is paramount and we keep our embassy posture and Travel Advice under constant review.”
