However, Met adds that this hot, dry conditions could return and continue into the autumn.
“It’s going to be hot,” said Bonnie Diamond, a forecaster with the Met Office, adding: “In the south east in particular there will be temperatures of between 32 and 34C with a small chance of 35C most likely in London.”
“Sea surface temperatures close to the UK have reached near-record levels as a result of the prolonged hot and sunny weather,” Met said today.

For August-September-October, the Met Office long-range prediction system shows an increased chance of high-pressure patterns close to the UK.
