The US President has given the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky an ultimatum to accept their “platinum” deal which offers security guarantees.
US sources have said there will be a NATO style deal but warned “those guarantees will not be on the table forever.”
US officials have described the security guarantees as a “platinum standard” which guarantees Moscow will not invade Ukraine again, they claim that Europe and Kyiv are happy with.
Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, “I think we’re closer now than we have been ever.
US sources said that Washington’s offer is the “biggest win so far for Ukraine and for Europe” which includes an agreement for “really, really strong guarantees – Article 5-like – also very strong deterrence, size of military, weaponry.”

To date nothing has been agreed on Ukraine ceding territory to Vladimir Putin so he can claim his victory.
Leaders across Europe are apparently satisfied with Washington’s offer and the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said, “What the US has put on the table here in Berlin in terms of legal and material guarantees is really remarkable.
President Zelensky said, “We have now heard from the US side that they are ready to give us security guarantees that correspond to Article 5.”
A senior Trump administration official said, “The basis of that agreement is basically to have really, really strong guarantees, Article 5-like.
“Those guarantees will not be on the table forever. Those guarantees are on the table right now if there’s a conclusion that’s reached in a good way.”
On Wednesday Zelensky said that Russia’s position on negotiations “has not changed” and they “want our Donbas. And we do not want to give away our Donbas.”
“The Americans want to find a compromise, they offer a ‘free economic zone.’ And I will emphasize once again: ‘free economic zone’ does not mean under the leadership of the Russian Federation,” Zelensky said after the most recent round of talks.
“Neither de jure nor de facto will we recognize Donbas as Russian — the part that is temporarily occupied.”
“Today or tomorrow, we will finalize the documents, our own. Then the United States, I think, in the coming days will hold consultations with the Russians, and after that they will hold consultations with the president of the United States, and after that our teams will meet,” Zelensky said.
“I think our negotiating teams will meet in the U.S. in the near future, I think, maybe even over the weekend. And then, after, respectively, this meeting, we will see. We will think about a meeting at the level of leaders,” he added.
“I think that America will put pressure with sanctions and give us more weapons if (Russia) rejects everything. I think this will be a fair request to the Americans.”
