The former US President Donald Trump has suggested that he would have launched strikes on Moscow in response to Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine.

During a fundraising event Trump also said that he would have attacked China if they invaded Taiwan if he was President.

The Washington Post reported that Trump’s comment totally “surprised some of the donors,” although it was revealed that details from a leaked phone call in 2022 Trump told a friend he would have made this threat to Putin over the war in Ukraine.

Trump has previously said that he could end the war between Kyiv and Moscow within “24 hours,” but he has never publicly said how he would do this.

Anonymous sources have said that Trump has privately said he would put pressure on Kyiv to give up Crimea and the Donbas and allow Putin to keep them.

The Washington Post also reported that Trump thinks that Moscow and Kyiv “want to save face, they want a way out.”

The former US President has also publicly called the Russian leader a “genius” and that it is “wonderful” a “big proportion of Ukraine” is now independent.

In 2022 Trump seemed to brag that this would not have happened if he was the US President as the situation with Ukraine was not “properly handled.”

Trump said, “Putin declares a big portion of Ukraine as independent. That’s wonderful. How smart is that? This is genius.

“I knew Putin very well. I got along with him great. He’s got a lot of great charm and a lot of pride. He loves his country.”

Speaking to The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show, Trump said he used to talk to the Russian President about Russia’s ambitions to invade Ukraine.

He said, “I used to talk to him about it. I said, ‘You can’t do it. You’re not gonna do it’. But I could see that he wanted it.”
