Sir David Beckham has become Britain’s first billionaire sportsman after his fortune with wife Victoria Beckham surged to an estimated £1.185 billion, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List.
The dramatic leap in wealth marks one of the largest rises on this year’s list, with the couple more than doubling the £500 million fortune attributed to them in 2025.
Much of the increase has reportedly been driven by Sir David’s expanding business interests in the United States, particularly his involvement with Inter Miami CF. The arrival of Lionel Messi at the club has transformed its global commercial value, while lucrative property developments linked to the team’s stadium project have also boosted returns.
At the same time, Victoria Beckham’s fashion empire has continued to grow rapidly, with revenues at her label now reportedly surpassing £100 million.
The financial milestone comes during a turbulent period for the Beckham family, following an increasingly public feud between eldest son Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
Brooklyn accused his family earlier this year of attempting to damage his marriage, claiming on social media that tensions had continued since before his wedding. He also alleged that Nicola, daughter of billionaire investor Nelson Peltz, had been disrespected by members of the Beckham family.
Elsewhere on the Rich List, Oasis stars Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher entered the rankings after their hugely successful reunion tour reportedly helped generate a combined fortune of £375 million.
The reunion sparked controversy over dynamic ticket pricing after some standard seats surged in price during sales, prompting scrutiny from ministers and competition regulators.
Other notable names appearing on the list include Elton John, Mick Jagger, Brian May, Harry Potter creator J. K. Rowling and Lewis Hamilton.
King Charles III was also included with an estimated personal fortune of £680 million.
Meanwhile, former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury debuted on the under-40s rich list with wealth estimated at £162 million, although he remains behind Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles and Adele among Britain’s wealthiest young stars.
