Online travel agent loveholidays has launched in Germany as it continues its rapid growth and aims to become Europe’s leading package holiday provider.
Customers in Germany can benefit from the billions of potential package holiday combinations available through the independent travel agent, which is trading as weloveholidays in the market.
The German operation is led by Jan Kuklinski, who joined the business as General Manager of weloveholidays earlier this year from price comparison website CHECK24, where he was Managing Director of the firm’s hotel division.
Jan heads up an in-market team, based in Düsseldorf, that is responsible for the day-to-day running of the business and includes specialist agents to support customers as they book and manage their holidays.
The online travel agent’s launch in Germany follows its successful entry into the Irish market in 2016 and is an integral part of its plan to expand and diversify its offering.
The news comes just weeks after loveholidays was revealed as the UK’s third largest ATOL holder with a licence to serve almost 2.5 million passengers this year from the UK alone.
When considering its Irish business, it is on track to more than double the number of passengers it helped to go on holiday pre-pandemic in 2023, demonstrating its strong recovery post-Covid and resilience amid challenging economic conditions.
Donat Rétif, Chief Executive Officer of loveholidays, said: “Our platform empowers customers to quickly and easily book holidays that match their needs and budgets, which couldn’t be more important in the current economic climate. This concept has proven to be incredibly popular with holidaymakers in the UK and Ireland, as reflected in the growth we’re projecting across both markets this year, and we’re confident it will resonate with customers in Germany too.
“We chose Germany not just due to its size, but also the potential to drive innovation within the market and offer consumers something different. Jan’s experience makes him the perfect person to lead the team at weloveholidays as we strive towards becoming Europe’s number one package holiday provider.”
Jan Kuklinski, General Manager of weloveholidays, said: “Germany is the largest outbound travel market in Europe and the opportunity for growth is significant, with more customers looking online for dynamic packaging options. We’re ready to disrupt what has been a traditional travel market to date and provide customers with a fresh and innovative approach ahead of what we expect will be a busy summer season.”
