Liz Truss looks certain to be next Tory leader as Labour backed to win majority at next General Election

Liz Truss is the clear 1/33 favourite to be the next Tory leader, with Rishi Sunak 25/1, as the voting ballot closes on Friday afternoon.

For the first time this year, Labour have shorter odds (11/4) than the Conservatives (3/1) to win a majority at the next General Election.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said, “Liz Truss is the strong 1/33 favourite to be the next Tory leader, while Rishi Sunak is a big outsider at 25/1, with the voting ballot closing on Friday afternoon.

“With Truss expected to succeed Boris Johnson, punters on Betfair Exchange are backing Labour to win an overall majority over the Conservatives at the next General Election. A Labour majority is 11/4, while the Conservative trail just behind at 3/1.”
